I'm an Architectural / Commercial / Interior Photographer and I love the subject. During the Winter and Spring months I also love to ski and photograph quite a bit (100+ days) mostly in B.C.
Having skied on Whistler Mountain off and mostly on since the beginning in 1965, I have observed quite a few changes, met a few folks and skied some new lines since then. In the last 10+ years since the advent of digital photography I've been inspired to capture the personality of Whistler from my own POV. Anyone who would like my take on the area is welcome to contact me at rkcg@uniserve.com
As I sat in traffic yesterday, going nowhere I thought of the tons of pollutants spewing from the exhausts of other cars in our own fair city of Vancouver. The city has already declared no idle zones around the area and that's a good thing. But the gridlock gives a much bigger additive to the pollution than the curb stops I would think. So why don't we extend Rush Hours from 9 am to 11 am or more. This may apply to main arterials and collectors and maybe even local routes depending on business input.
Also traffic light loop detectors and synchronicity in this day and age of technology must surely be reasonable to install and maintain efficiently. Any other cities out there that have addressed this simple issue?
