Went fishing at Langara Fishing Lodge at the northern tip of Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Is.) Big and plentiful fish of all types, excellent food and service staff. Took my buddy Rob who is an expert fisherman and showed me the ropes, err lines! Go see them at Langara Fishing Adventures for a "whale" of a time!Click on the title for link to HQ video.

2010/11 Ski season

Nov. 20, 2010.With the temperature on Whistler Mountain around -20 C. and a strong, windy arctic inflow, ski season is starting with a bang. Just a couple of shots from our shake down day. Route 66 from LA to Milwaukee on a HD Road King

We rode through Death Valley and temperature was about 120 F. Now that we are at about 5000 ft. in Winslow, AZ it's much more tolerable. Went through a thunder storm near Grand Canyon and had to pull over as it passed us. The smells and sights as we go on cruising at 80 mph are just fine!

Daniel Wins J1 B.C. Miele Cup

Daniel showed his consistency throughout the past 2009 / 2010 ski race season of 18 Downhill, SG, G.S. and Slalom races in B.C. and Alberta, by winning the overall Miele Cup series in J1 category (16 & <). His buddies Ford and Spencer from the BC Ski Team / WMSC finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

On Wednesday, Sept. 30 I went to the Hotel Vancouver to cover Mayor Robertson's announcement to the Board of Trade of a new name for our fair city, "Vancouver - Green Capital". With all the natural wonders in abundance here and our love of healthy living, it's appropriate.

Canada Line Opening

I had a busy day yesterday with the opening of the Canada Line from YVR to the Waterfront. Even did the chauffeuring of the Mayor and aides from airport to City hall in the Jeep! Here is a photo of Minister McNeil and Mayor Robertson cutting the ribbon at City Hall Station.

Island Bike Trip

We went on a bike trip to Vancouver Island for a few days to mark a certain occasion.Bikes have their own air conditioning, but only when you're moving. We went to my buddy Rob's place up the coast for a little R and R and partying.Rob is a fishing guide and a guy with many talents and can pull a salmon out of agumboot if there is any. We went out for a couple of hours but no luck, so I assume there was not a single fish within 100 miles! Had a glorious shoot Friday of HRH Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, although I must have sweated 5 litres in the 85+ F. heat.Actually I was probably cooler than most of the Honor guards because the uniforms they wear are pretty toasty. I'm sorry to hear of Arthur Erickson's passing. I was lucky enough to have met the man a few times and to have done a little photography of one of his last commissions, appropriately called "The Erickson" situated on Vancouver's False Creek. The aerial shot is my attempt at showing how the still unfinished building would look where located.

J1 Canadian National Championships at Whistler

Our WMSC club hosted the J1 (15, 16 yrs.) National Championships a week ago with very good conditions, save one morning when it was pretty wet. At this level the athletes were quite privileged to race on the same tracks and safety conditions as the big show in 2010. In mid January I got an assignment to go up there. The event was the 2009 FIS Nordic World Cup Festival with Ski Jumping, Cross Country and Combined disciplines. I went on a road trip just before Christmas to see Daniel's first FIS race held at Panorama Resort near Invermere, B.C. I also met up with my brother Barry and wife Fran from Calgary to ski Mt.
